#DuleepTrophy2024: POS Kamboj | Centurion Tilak | Super Shams

We’ve just come to the end of a mega three weeks in the Indian domestic circuit, a season that’s gripped everyone’s attention with a bunch of big guns in action. And you could trust our Mumbai Indians boys to set the stage on fire. Let’s rewind..

Tilak Varma (India A): An unbeaten century, and the eventual Champion. His dance when his side, India A, sealed the win with the final wicket was the icing on the cake though. Coming into the side for the second game, he had a point to prove, and he did it with a calm, assertive ton against India D in the second innings. 111* off 193 balls with nine fours, he helped set a massive target of 488 for the opposition to chase, something they fell well short of.

Shams Mulani (India A): A fighting 89 with his side’s back to the wall at 144/6, playing the rescue act and taking India A to 290 in their second game against India D, and then following it up with three wickets in the second innings to seal the win.  He followed it up with another fighting knock of 44 in the last game, with three more wickets to cap off what has been a special series for our Mumbaikar.

Anshul Kamboj (India C): 16 wickets across three games, and unsurprisingly, the deserved winner of the Player of the Series award. He’s impressed everyone with his pace, accuracy, nip, and his batting as well! The standout moment came in the game against India B, where he snapped up an eight-fer to help his side earn a first-innings lead in a high-scoring game.

Ishan Kishan (India C): With a sensational 111 on his return back from injury that kept him out of the first round, Ishan Kishan announced his arrival in some style. With 14 fours and three sixes, it was a typical Ishan knock, at a brisk strike rate of over 88, putting the India B bowlers under pressure.

Suryakumar Yadav (India B): Coming back from an injury that caused him to miss the first two rounds, SKY showed glimpses of coming into his own in the second innings with a couple of sixes in his 10-ball 16 as India B were chasing 373. Sadly, the stay wasn’t long enough, but nevertheless, he’s fit, he’s back, and he’s sure to hit top form come the T20I series against Bangladesh.
