MI Junior 2024: Nachiket Deotale slams double ton in Nagpur
Nachiket Deotale (223* off 127) was the star of the show in Somalwar High School, Nikalas Branch’s 299-run win over Shahu Nagar, Besa in the Boys’ Under-14 category of the MI Junior tournament in Nagpur on Wednesday.
Somalwar High posted a total of 349/5 in 40 overs, courtesy of Nachiket’s outstanding knock, before Shahu Nagar were skittled out for a meagre 50 runs.
In another match in the same category, medium-pacer Sarthak Shukla (6 for 15) showcased his skills to dismiss MKH Sancheti Public School for 45 runs. Sandipani School, Hazaripahad then sailed to victory in only 8.4 overs.
In the Girls’ Under-15 category, Chanakshi Tijare’s stellar five-for (5 for 7) helped Bhavan’s BP Vidhya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar bowl out Jindal Public School, Dattawadi for a measly 20. Bhavan’s needed just 3 overs to chase the target.
