MI Junior Rising Star 2025: Team D triumphant in truncated thriller

In a shortened 23-over match that went down to the wire, Team D came out trumps as they marched past Team B with a resounding 6-wicket victory in a league match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Boys Rising Star Tournament in Mumbai on Monday.

Batting first after winning the toss, Team B got off to a promising start as opener Aakash Mangde led the charge with a well-compiled half-century worth 54 runs which involved a 66-run partnership for the third wicket with Aayush Shinde (19). However, Team B collapsed like a pack of cards, losing 7 wickets in the span of just 27 runs as they were eventually bowled out for 107. On the bowling front, Shaunak Gawade spearheaded the attack picking up 4 crucial wickets, as Ayush Yadav (2/5) and Aryan Purohit (2/15) chipped in with 2 wickets apiece.

In response to a modest target of 108 runs, Team D got off to a flyer as openers Harshit Bobade and Shardul Fagare forged a 57-run opening stand, with Harshit going on to score 43 runs. Team B tried to fight their way back into the match, riding on the back of Aarav Yadav’s splendid 3 for 11. However, skipper Amogh Patil’s unbeaten 26 guided Team D to a convincing victory with just 1.5 overs left and with 6 wickets in hand.
