MI Junior 2025: Anjuman-I-Islam Allana emerge victorious in a thrilling 1-Wicket win

In a captivating encounter, Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School (CSMT) came out trumps against Dhyandeep Seva Mandal High School (Navi Mumbai), by a narrow margin of 1 wicket in the MI Junior Interschool Cricket Super Knockout tournament in Mumbai on Monday.

After being put into bat, Dhyandeep Seva Mandal were bowled out for 128 in 32.5 overs. While Atul top-scored for Dhyandeep with 23 runs, skipper Aarav Yadav led the bowling attack with figures of 3 for 22, and he was well supported by Vedant Kadu (3/19) and Arhaan Patel (3/17).

Chasing 129 runs to ensure victory, Anjuman-I-Islam Allana got off to a good start as Aarav Yadav (25) and Arhaan Syed (19) stitched together a crucial partnership after losing an early wicket. After Aarav was run out, wickets kept tumbling for Anjuman-I-Islam Allana. However, they kept their nerves to progress through to the next round. For Dhyaandeep Seva Mandal, Umair Nadeem tried his best with figures of 3/30, but was unable to deny Anjuman-I-Islam a well-deserved victory.

Tarapur Vidyamandir registered a convincing victory as they dominated Dhyandeep Seva Mandal High School to win by 143 runs. Openers Nirbhay Keni (49) and Janmey Patil (54) laid the foundation with skipper Nehal Meher (39) and Abhinav Thakur (34 n.o) also contributing to the total of 208. Dhyandeep Seva Mandal, on the other hand, were bowled out for 65, courtesy a match-winning spell by Prayag Shah (4/16) with skipper Nehal also taking 2 wickets.
