Reliance Foundation's EFA Program heads to Vizag

Mumbai Indians – who have now made Visakhapatnam as their new Home venue, will resume their IPL season campaign with a special touch, having over 3000 underprivileged children cheering for them. These children are special invitees at the ACA-VDCA Stadium, as part of the Reliance Foundation’s Education For All (EFA) initiative, to get an lifetime opportunity to watch a cricket match ‘Live’ during tomorrow’s 4:00 pm game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Spearheaded by Mrs Nita Ambani, the Reliance Foundation Education For All program has been relentlessly working for last six years with the underprivileged children to support their needs for rightful and equal education. In these six years, the initiative has benefited approximately 70,000 underprivileged children providing them with access to quality education.

Since IPL 2010, Mumbai Indians dedicate one match of every season for the cause of Education For All, lending voice to Reliance Foundation campaign and creating a productive environment for children to realise their full potential. Every year – this time around – from Icon Sachin Tendulkar to every player and support staff of Mumbai Indians feel excited to play in support for the need of education for children.

Reliance Foundation chairperson and owner of Mumbai Indians, Mrs Nita Ambani said, “all these years’, Wankhede has been testimony to witness a sea of blue with 18,000 children coming over to watch match ‘Live’ and get aspired to see their faviourite cricketers in action. This year too, Mumbai Indians were looking forward to hosting yet another 18,000 children for the EFA match on 8th May 2016.

Even though a change in venue from Wankhede to ACA-VDCA stadium, we felt that the cause of supporting education for children should not suffer, and hence – even less a number – we are happy to spread the joy among these 3000 underprivileged children here at Visakhapatnam.”

This noble cause very effectively uses its global fan base to enhance awareness about a compelling social issue, and has found support amongst its fans and sponsors.
