Rohit Sharma: Been through tough times, great to be back

The Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to defeat table-toppers Mumbai Indians in the final league game at Sharjah.

Both teams have progressed to the playoffs. While MI play against DC in the first Qualifier, SRH will face RCB in the Eliminator.

Rohit Sharma shared his thoughts at the post-match presentation ceremony. The Mumbai Indians skipper spoke about his comeback, the dew conditions, and their first Qualifier against Delhi.

We wanted to try a few things but it didn’t go our way

“Not a day we want to remember. We wanted to try a few things but it didn’t go our way. We lost quite a few wickets early and that didn’t make things easier for us. We were aware of the dew factor but again we want to take the toss out of contention. We play at Wankhede where there's dew in the second innings. You have to back your skills and believe that you can get people out.”

I’ve been going through tough times, great to be back

“We didn’t have too many runs on the board, hence we couldn’t put pressure on the opposition.  They played good shots in the powerplay, and that helped them. I've been going through tough times but great to be back. I love being on the field. I'm planning to play a few more games. The hamstring is absolutely fine.“

Need to move on and focus on the new game

“It’s a very funny format. Always nice to forget what has happened and focus on the present. You want to remember your good performances but you need to move on and focus on the new game. Delhi are a good side, so it will be a good challenge to face them. You want to leave this performance as quickly as possible. We'll get back to the drawing board and figure things out.”
