The echoes of Mumbai!! Mumbai!! reverberate from a smack coming off the willow sent across the Vijay Merchant Stand, the Sunil Gavaskar Stand or the Sachin Tendulkar Stand. A sporting wonder of India, oh, how much we missed it!
It has been 320 days since MI last stepped onto the Wankhede Stadium for a game of cricket. Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals. A win for us of course, thanks to Boom Boom Bumrah (3/25) and Pocket Dynamo Ishan (48).
The Wankhede Stadium, a fortress
No matter victory or loss, there’s just infinite amounts of buzzing energy inside the cauldron. The steep altitude in the stands gets the crowd noise amplified multifold. Be it for India or Mumbai Indians, the arena always bleeds blue. As we mark ten years since our first IPL success, it is only fitting to mention that in the 2013 and the 2014 seasons, we won every single game played at home. Absolute do-MI-nation indeed.
