WPL weekly star-tracker (Jan 20): Boss Hayley single-handedly sinks Bangladesh

From the Women’s Ashes to the ODIs between the West Indies and Bangladesh, to the under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, there’s a lot for us to look back at in the world of Women’s sport. As usual, when there’s cricket around, the Mumbai Indians girls make headlines..

West Indies vs Bangladesh, 1st ODI

Hayley Matthews: Making quick work of the 199-run chase, she got the Windies home in a canter, with 16 fours in a 93-ball unbeaten knock of 104. It in fact was one of those Hayley-doing-everything days, having picked up a couple of wickets as well in her spell of 2/41 to restrict the visitors to a smallish total.

Women’s Ashes, Australia vs England

Nat Sciver-Brunt: Although England were whitewashed in the three-match ODI series, Aapli Nat stood out in the third, being the pick of the English bowlers in her spell of 2/51 and then among the batters as well with her fighting 61. Alas, it wasn’t to be.
