By Mumbai Indians

Read it in Hindi.

Read it in Marathi.

It’s time. If 2023 was all about history being made and the face of women’s cricket changing forever, 2024 is all about making it normal. Yes, the WPL is here. Yes, Mumbai Indians are the reigning champions. Yes, a women’s cricket league is a normal. Right, that brushed aside, Paltan, we’ve waited a year. Let’s kick it off, shall we?!

Aapli Kaptaan Kaur, the ace all-rounder trio of Amelia Kerr, Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt, the young hidden packages of 2023 in Issy Wong and Saika Ishaque, Coach Charlotte Edwards, Guru Jhulan Goswami and the entire MI crew is ready. Each one of them is coming back a bigger, better player. And we resume from where we left last year, on the special night at the Brabourne Stadium, with a repeat clash of the WPL 2023 final.

We know the Capitals would be in revenge mode. But we are ready. All in all, it promises to be a proper feast for the cricketing fans, and by the end of it, trust our girls to paint the Chinnaswamy in our Blue and Gold!

What: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals
When: February 23, 2024 | 8:00pm IST
Where: Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
What to expect: Remember the rampage the MI batters went on in their first WPL game last year? Let’s recap it for you: Hayley: 47(31), Harman: 65(30), Amelia: 45(24), Pooja: 15(8), Issy: 6(1), MI: 207/5(20 overs). Yeah, something similar is loading up Paltan. Bring out that jersey, bring out your superstition … Ganpati Bappa Moryaaa!!!

What they said: "She is a great player who has done well for her country and the leagues wherever she plays. She can bowl with good pace. Wongy (Issy Wong) gave us good balance last year. Because we have to play back-to-back cricket and travel as well this year, she gives us that extra cushioning and adds balance to our side as well. Hopefully, she does well for the team when she gets the opportunity." -- Harmanpreet Kaur on our pace sensation Shabnim Ismail
