White ball or red ball? It didn’t seem to matter to Ishan Kishan as he set the stage on fire, all guns blazing, doing what he does best, entertaining the Paltan!

He started his tune-up to the 2024 domestic season in style as he led Jharkhand from the front to beat defending champions Madhya Pradesh in their opening match of the Buchi Babu cricket tournament 2024 at Tirunelveli.

The pocket dynamo hit the ground running as he produced a stunning display to notch up an 86-ball 100. After a cautious start, he lit up the arena with his breathtaking strokeplay smashing five fours and 10 sixes.

And guess what? The Jharkhand captain was not done yet… After his 114 in the first innings, Ishan showed great character and determination to remain unbeaten on 41 in a tricky chase to see his side home by two wickets, smashing two sixes in three balls to seal the game.

The Paltan will hope that Ishan continues his red-hot form into Jharkhand’s next match against Hyderabad starting on August 21. The southpaw, last week, was also included in Team D of the Duleep Trophy, the curtain-raiser of the domestic season, which is scheduled to begin on September 5.
