INDvENG, 4th T20I: HP-Dube tod fod helps India pocket the series

Three wins in a five-match series म्हणजे trophy 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗗! 🏆

England captain Jos Buttler got fourth time lucky with the toss, winning it for the first time in this series and opting to field first.

The Indian batters were in for an early surprise as Saqib Mahmood’s superb spell left the hosts reeling at 12/3. However, a combined effort, led by Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube’s rada helped them register 181/9.

Restoration work begins early on…

English pacer Saqib Mahmood’s triple-wicket maiden rocked Team India in the second over as the onus fell on Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh to get the innings back on track.

Nonetheless, both southpaws took the offensive route, maximising the opening six overs to take their side to 47/3.

However, Abhishek Sharma departed soon after the powerplay for a 19-ball 29, with Jacob Bethell taking a fine catch off Adil Rashid’s delivery.

Dube, HP record important fifties!

Two overs later, Rinku Singh’s stay in the middle was cut short by Brydon Carse, with the left-hander contributing 30 runs in a challenging situation.

Thereafter, Hardik Pandya joined Shivam Dube and the duo did well to stitch an 87-run partnership to put the pressure back on the visitors.

Meanwhile, Shivam Dube, featuring in his first match of the series, made the most of the opportunity by scoring 53 runs at a strike rate of 15.88, including seven fours and two maximums. Good one, Shivam! 🙌

Thanks to these splendid knocks, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side put up a competitive 181/9 on the board. What a comeback, indeed!

Bishnoi, Axar pull things back!

With England cruising at 10 runs per over, Ravi Bishnoi took the crucial wicket of Ben Duckett on the last ball of the powerplay to open the floodgates.

Phil Salt and Jos Buttler 🔜 followed their teammate, falling prey to Axar and Bishnoi, respectively, in successive overs.

At the halfway stage, the Englishmen were at 86/3.

Harshit Rana revels on debut, spinners continue to shine!

Serving as the concussion substitute to Shivam Dube, Harshit भाऊ took just two balls to claim his first wicket on T20I debut, getting the better of Liam Livingstone in the 12th over. 💪

Moreover, the series’ leading wicket-taker Varun Chakaravarthy extended his fine run of form, sending Harry Brook and Brydon Carse back to the pavilion, with the former looking set to take the game away owing to some magnificent hitting.

In the end, the debutant pacer bagged two more wickets as Team India won the tantalising contest to pocket the series with one fixture to spare. 🇮🇳
