The event - which is a one-day-long mini-auction - will be held at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. This is the first instance in the history of the T20 extravaganza that an auction is held overseas.

Alongside Mumbai Indians, the other nine franchise teams have been given a deadline of November 26, 2023, to finalise and submit the list of players who are retained or released. In the build-up to the event, it was confirmed that Romario Shepherd joined us in a pre-auction trade, where we drafted him in from Lucknow Super Giants.

Each team will have a purse of INR 100 crore to fine-tune their squad for the 2024 season, five crore more than what they had last year. The final purse that each team will have will be based on funds generated from the released players and the unspent purse from the 2023 auction.

What’s more interesting? The IPL 2024 Auction will coincide with the second ODI of India's tour of South Africa, which is scheduled for December 19 in Gqeberha.
