Kieron Pollard: Our bowlers tried but it wasn’t our night

By Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians put up a total of 195/5 on board but still couldn’t end up on the winning side at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Batting first, Hardik Pandya’s spectacular knock of 60* (21) kept MI on top. However, it was Ben Stokes who was the star of the night with a century.

Skipper Kieron Pollard shared his thoughts at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Our bowlers tried but it wasn't our night

“When you play a game of cricket, someone has to win and someone has to lose. Well played to Stokes and Samson. We couldn't get more than two wickets. Our bowlers tried but it wasn't our night.“

To end on the losing side after Hardik’s innings is tough luck

“I had a conversation with Hardik before he went out to bat. I told him it has been long since he's done something of his own. And he went out there and got 60* off just 21. An innings like that and we end up on the losing side, that's just tough luck.”
