WPL Match 2 | GGvMI preview: Four Ws in four games! Let’s stretch our unbeaten record
It’s an enviable stat to be a part of. Over two seasons and four matches, Mumbai Indians remain the only side to be unbeaten in a head-to-head rivalry in the WPL, and on Tuesday (February 18), have a chance of making it 5-0 over their neighbours, the Gujarat Giants.
That’s a nice, happy memory to come back to and lift our spirits after the tough last-ball heartbreak we had against the Delhi Capitals. There were plenty of positives for us to take out though, the form our Kaptaan Kaur was in, Nat being her usual dependable self, Shabnim cranking up the pace, the spinners being effective in the middle overs.
“We should have got ourselves to 180+ which we didn’t and that hurt us at the end of the game,” said MI Head Coach Charlotte Edwards after the previous game. That’s right, expect our girls to be hungry for big runs here!
The Giants, after losing their first game to RCB in what was a stellar chase, came back with a pretty easy win a night ago against the UP Warriorz. It’s perfectly set up for a potential cracker.
