MI Junior 2024: Massive wins for Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School & IES High School in Mumbai

Raj Jain (174 off 119) and Ameya More (162* off 112) slammed spectacular tons to lead Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School to a massive 275-run win over Podar International School, IBM Cambridge, Santacruz in a Boys’ Under-16 league match in Mumbai in the MI Junior Inter-School tournament on Tuesday.

Riding on impressive knocks by Raj and Ameya, Sulochanadevi piled up a total of 386 in 39 overs, before Podar International were bowled out for just 111.

In another Boys’ Under-16 clash in Mumbai, an unbeaten ton by Shreyash Dinesh Ambekar (151* off 130) propelled Sacred Heart School, Nallasopara to a challenging 258/9 in 40 overs against Podar International School, CAIE, Powai. Chasing 259, Podar International were knocked over for 154, with Shreyash delivering with the ball too (5 for 23).

In the Boys’ Under-14 category in Mumbai, a century under pressure by Atharva Samudra (113 off 77) guided IES High School, Navi Mumbai to a 331-run win against Dadar Parsee Youth Assembly School.

IES were in a spot of bother at 117-5, before Atharva’s knock rescued their innings and took their total to 383/7. Onkar Nivas Garud (5-7) then finished the job for IES, bundling out Dadar Parsee for 52 runs.
