MI Junior 2024: Shri Rajendra High School and Centre Point School advance to Boys' U16 semi-finals

Krish Sonkusre (149 off 102) smashed a scintillating ton to guide Shri Rajendra High School to an emphatic 295-run win over RS Mundle English School And Junior College, Samarth Nagar in the Boys’ Under-16 quarter-final round in Nagpur in the MI Junior tournament on Tuesday.

Batting first, Shri Rajendra piled up a total of 342/4, with Krish taking the RS Mundle bowlers to the cleaners. With the job only half done, Sarthak Karosiya (4 for 14) finished the job for Shri Rajendra, dismissing RS Mundle for a meagre 47 runs.

In another Boys’ Under-16 quarter-final, Suleman Ali Khan (139 off 113) and Palash Khandekar (78 off 67) starred in Centre Point School, Dabha’s 222-run win against Lalitha Public School, East Wardhaman.

Riding on a stellar century by Suleman and a half-century by Palash, Centre Point managed an impressive total of 288/5 in 40 overs. Palash shone with the ball too (5 for 27), with Anshuman Upadhye (4 for 28) providing support from the other end to bundle out Lalitha Public for just 66 runs.

Aspire International School, Wardha Road and The Royal Gondwana Public School were the other two teams that qualified for the Boys’ Under-16 semi-finals in Nagpur.

1. Somalwar High School, Ramdaspeth 100 all out in 30.1 overs (Krishna Saratkar 47; Jay Jaiswal 4-23) lost to Aspire International School, Wardha Road 101/1 in 12.3 overs (Jay Jaiswal 65*, Abhimaan Singh 30*).
