MI sign Sandeep Warrier as replacement for Jasprit Bumrah for IPL 2023
We have news. Our very own, Boom Boom, Jaspirt Bumrah, who underwent surgery recently, is sadly ruled out of the entire tournament. After a zillion yorkers and a load of matches won for us, this year his vibe at the Wankhede will sorely be missed. Heal well, Boom!
But what this brings is an opportunity for Sandeep Warrier, a right-arm fast bowler to join the Mumbai Indians squad as a replacement. Sandeep, who debuted for India in 2021, is an experienced player in the domestic circuit having played over 200 games with 69 of them in T20 format, taking 362 wickets in his career so far across formats.
He started his cricketing career with Kerala in 2012, and was the leading wicket-taker for them in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy and in the 2019 Ranji Trophy. He made the move to Tamil Nadu in the 2021 season, and continues to be one of the mainstays in their bowling lineup.
He will join the Mumbai Indians squad ahead of the team’s first game of IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday (April 2).Go hard, Sandeep! And come on Paltan, let's shout out a welcome!
