MI @ VHT 2024-25: Shrijith’s 150 helps Karnataka pull off stunning chase

By Mumbai Indians

The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 is up and running and our Boys in Blue and Gold have wasted no time in getting in the groove, making headlines with their customary tod fod on the field.

Without any further ado, let’s get into the mix of things…

Matchday 1 | 21st December - Shrijith’s moment to cherish!

Shrijith bhau, congratulations on your first-ever century in the limited-overs format! 🥳

The Mumbai vs Karnataka match saw the 28-year-old come out all guns blazing while chasing a huge total of 382 runs for the latter. The southpaw scored an unbeaten 150 off 101 balls, laced with 20 fours and four sixes, to guide his side to a magnificent win.

Elsewhere, Punjab’s Ashwani Kumar (9-0-37-3) and Goa’s Arjun Tendulkar (10-0-61-3) bowled their way to victories with their respective teams.

While Punjab cruised to a nine-wicket win over Arunachal Pradesh to kickstart their campaign, Goa defeated Odisha by 27 runs in their opening match of the competition.

Matchday 2 | 23rd December - Rare off day at the office

The MI representatives did make contributions for their teams, but not the best of days on the field…

However, Suryakumar Yadav’s 23-ball 18 played a small yet important role in Mumbai’s narrow three-wicket win over Hyderabad.

No worries boys, it’s just not meant to be on some days. Time to bounce back stronger and give your best in the upcoming fixtures!
