MI @ VHT 2024-25: Tilak Varma returns to form & much more!
The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 is in full swing and our Boys in Blue and Gold are in the mix, aiming to go all the way through and lift the trophy for their respective team.
Ready to dive right in? Let’s get started!
Matchday 3 | 26th December – Tilak Varma, Deepak Chahar dazzle
Following two consecutive ducks, Hyderabad captain Tilak Varma bounced back in style with a 57-run knock. Even though his side faced a defeat against Saurashtra, the half-century would definitely up his morale moving ahead in the competition.
Elsewhere, Deepak Chahar and Arjun Tendulkar’s all-round performances played an instrumental role in their teams’ wins.
While Chahar’s 2/51 and 26 off 21 helped Rajasthan overcome Himachal Pradesh by two wickets, Tendulkar’s 1/40 and 24-ball 26 powered Goa to a comfortable 171-run win over Manipur.
Andhra Pradesh’s Satyanarayana Raju too extended his wicket-taking spree, claiming three more scalps in a terrific eight-wicket victory versus Sikkim.
Matchday 4 | 28th December – An off day, but the show must go on…
While MI’s stars did their bit for their teams, the performances fell just short of their usual standards.
Baroda’s Hardik Pandya featured in his first match of the tournament. Getting into the groove, he picked up one wicket while giving away 33 runs in seven overs against Bengal.
Right-arm pacer Satyanarayana Raju bagged his seventh wicket of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-45 as his economical spell of 8-0-30-1 guided Andhra Pradesh to a 10-wicket thrashing of Services.
