DD vs MI – Match Preview
The Feroz Shah Kotla will be gearing up for the Delhi Daredevils challenge against a resurgent Mumbai Indians side. Mumbai’s IPL 2016 campaign was emphatically revived with a convincing win over RCB.
The two franchises have faced each other 16 times before and the head-to-head record is an even split with the Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians winning 8 matches each. One of the key battles to watch this match is between the Mumbai boys, Rohit Sharma and Zaheer Khan. After a composed knock against RCB it will be fascinating to see the MI captain take on his seasoned former team mate Zaheer Khan this Sunday (23rd April).
DD’s entire batting line-up has not been tested much apart from their first match against KKR where they buckled under pressure after a few setbacks early in the innings. Their batting line does not boast of big names apart from the South African duo of De Kock and JP Duminy. DD have an array of bowlers each of whom are match winners in their own right and capable of hurting the MI batting order.
Mumbai Indians were trying to get their combination right throughout their previous matches and the win against RCB should mean that they will be looking to continue with the winning formula. With Rohit Sharma back amongst the runs and Ambati Rayudu cementing his no. 3 spot, there is plenty to look forward to for the MI fans. Mitch McClenaghan, the leading wicket-taker thus far in IPL 2016, will be the mainstay of MI’s bowling. With support from Jasprit Bumrah, Krunal Pandya, Harbhajan Singh and Time Southee this bowling line-up is equipped to trouble the DD batting line-up. It is going to be a mouth-watering match-up this Saturday, with no real favourites going into this one.
