The New Home - Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam will host this season’s remaining home games of both Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants from May 2nd. Ending a long impasse surrounding the allotment of alternate home venues for Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants, Rajiv Shukla, Chirman of the Indian Premier League, announced on Friday (April 29) that “Both the IPL franchises have expressed satisfaction and are keen to embrace Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium as their home ground for the upcoming matches,” the BCCI media release stated. “Due to paucity of time and uncertainty surrounding whether the matches will be held or not, the IPL GC decided that Vizag will be the neutral venue for both Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants,” an IPL media release said.
Mumbai Indians had earlier opted for Jaipur as their alternate home venue but an uncertainty over the availability of the stadium resources due to similar prevalent conditions forced the organisers to move the matches.
The team will have to adapt and the players would have to work with a refreshed outlook because of this change. Here’s the updated schedule:
