In an interview with Star, Mr. Akash Ambani opened up on our strategy in the auction. “When we were sitting for the retention discussion, it was very difficult to choose between Surya, Hardik and Ishan. We were committed to getting one of them back”, he said on going all-out to get Ishan Kishan back in our Blue & Gold.

He was asked about going hard for Jofra Archer, who will miss this season. He responded saying,” Jofra is a player Mahela gave a professional debut to, and we are very happy to have Jofra and Bumrah together.”

Akash then spoke about Tymal Mills and Tim David. “Tymal has been an experienced death bowler. He was also with Mahela in The Hundred. He has stayed injury free and we are surprised he came for this price. Tim David is going to partner with Pollard at number six. We have always betted on our power-hitters. He has the IPL experience with RCB and we look forward to him and Pollard finishing the innings for us. We wanted to make sure we had the right combination”, he said.

 He summarized by saying,” Very happy today, was a little nervous after yesterday. If someone would have told me that we would be walking back with Ishan Kishan and Jofra Archer, I wouldn't have believed them. Everybody told me we wouldn't get Ishan back.”

Mr. Ambani ended his interview with a message for you, Paltan. He said,” You all have been the 12th man for us, we go back to our motto which is One Family. We really hope that you come out and support us this year. Hope you are excited with our picks, we tried our best. Day 1 must've been a little bit frustrating; you now know who we were saving for!”
