Players are quite relaxed now: Bumrah
The next match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad comes after a week-long break to the team. Jasprit Bumrah who is the second highest wicket taker for us, will play a crucial role in the match against the Hyderabad outfit. The bowler from Gujarat says, “We have been playing cricket for quite a long time so the break was necessary for us and it was quite refreshing. I think the break will help us in our upcoming matches. I was there with my relatives and it’s good to spend time with family as we don’t get much time in between the season.”
The team will be more relaxed now as we have the momentum of three wins, before going on a week long break. The atmosphere in the dressing room is more relaxed now, to which Bumrah says, “Even in the previous season, our dressing room atmosphere was always relaxed. Even if we lose or win we like to keep the same mind-set because we always believe that we can comeback. We have been working hard and we have been doing well in the practice sessions, so it’s a good sign that things are coming into place.”
Ponting who is the head coach for MI has done a splendid job with the boys to spark a turnaround. “He is quite an experienced player himself. He has played a lot of cricket, so he has a lot of experience to share with us. I think this is really helping our youngsters as his experience is always valuable. He has faced many tough situations which help us to come out of tough situation.” When asked about changes in the team combination, Bumrah replies curtly, “The side is doing well, so why to change the team combination.”
Talking about Vizag, Bumrah says, “I have played some matches here. A Lot of players have played matches over here, but as a team we are going to play for the first time. So we will see how the wicket plays and we will plan from there.”
