A man for the big occasions, Bumrah was never going to go unnoticed when MI crossed paths with Rising Pune Supergiant three years back for the Maharashtra derby. The 25-year-old pacer picked up three out of five wickets as RPS ended their innings on 159 for 5. Mumbai chased down the target comfortably, but Bumrah’s four overs was what made the difference as he ended with figures of 3 for 29 and picked up the important scalps of Steve Smith, Saurabh Tiwary and MS Dhoni.
