Rohit does some phenomenal things

By Mumbai Indians

Rohit Sharma recently became the second MI cricketer to represent them in 150 IPL matches.

Ever since he became the captain, Mumbai Indians have gone on to win the title four times. This year was the fifth instance of MI reaching the IPL final under Rohit's captaincy.

Various members of the MI squad shared their thoughts on Rohit Sharma as a batsman and captain, his legacy, calmness, decision making, and more. The likes of Kieron Pollard, Team Manager Rahul Sanghvi, Strength and Conditioning coach Paul Chapman, and Data Performance Manager CKM Dhananjai spoke to MITV.

Kieron Pollard: He plays some amazing shots

"Rohit is my choice in terms of how he goes about things and the amazing shots that he plays. He’s the captain of this franchise. He has won four titles. Once you have respect for a person or an individual, it just transcends on and off the field as well."

Paul Chapman: Rohit does some phenomenal things

"He brings a level of intensity to his batting and mixes that with his power and elegance. I’ve been fortunate to know Rohit for a long time, even before his time at Mumbai Indians. I just think he’s one of the most elegant batsmen that I’ve ever had the opportunity to see. The way that he approaches the game, the way that he takes the game on, he does some phenomenal things. Just striking the ball, he’s one of those players that you’d pay good money to go and watch."

Rahul Sanghvi: He keeps things simple for the team members

"His decisions are very simple. The way he interacts with the boys, gives them freedom, and keeps it simple for them. That I believe, has got the results that we’ve got in so many years."

CKM Dhananjai: Rohit's ability to learn quickly made him a holistic leader

"His ability to learn and grasp things quickly has helped him become a very holistic leader in terms of on and off the field. I think every leader is very different and Rohit embraced the fact that he looked out for things that could potentially put him ahead of the curve."
