After a slow day 1, it was going to be a frantic day 2, and we were not disappointed. We kicked things off by signing left-arm quick Jaydev Unadkat for ₹1.3 CR. Immediately after that, Mayank Markande, the leg-spinner from Punjab rejoined our ranks for ₹65 L after having a successful spell with us at the beginning of his career. That was all until lunch. Who we were going to be spending big on was still a mystery.

After lunch, we snapped young N. Tilak Varma for ₹1.7 CR. He will be one to watch as he seems made for the T20 format with his clean-striking ability. Next, we went for another youngster in Sanjay Yadav for ₹50 L. The left-handed all-rounder will be a useful addition to our side.

Thereafter, the mystery was solved. We spent ₹8 CR to sign English world-class fast bowler Jofra Archer. Yes, he will be injured for this forthcoming season but is considered a worthwhile investment by the management and can you really argue that? And we weren’t done just yet.

We went for and signed Daniel Sams and Tymal Mills for ₹2.6 CR and ₹1.5 CR respectively. Sams is an Aussie all-rounder with a reputation for big finishes while Mills is a T20 specialist bowler who has been successful for several franchises over the course of his career. Satisfied? But wait, there was yet another surprise in store.

We bid aggressively for the Singaporean Tim David and clinched him for ₹8.25 CR. He has been a revelation since breaking into the scene in various leagues across the world. Him and Polly in our middle-order is something bowlers’ nightmares are made of.

The accelerated auction had us fill out the squad with utility players such as Fabian Allen for ₹75 L and Riley Meredith for ₹1 CR. Allen is an outstanding all-rounder with bat, ball and in the field. Meredith is an electric quick who adds yet more firepower to our attack. Arjun Tendulkar returned to us for ₹30 L. So did Anmolpreet Singh for ₹20 L. Our other signings include Mohd. Arshad Khan (₹20 L), Ramandeep Singh (₹20 L), Rahul Buddhi (₹20 L), Hrithik Shokeen (₹20 L) and Aryan Juyal (₹20 L).
