Indiaaaa, Indiaaa!!! The (updated) ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule is here!

By Mumbai Indians

45 days to go! We are officially in the World Cup season and no better way to celebrate it than the official release of the schedule. So once again, make sure you SAVE THE DATES, Paltan!

The quest for India’s third CWC trophy will commence against the mighty Australia on October 8 in Chennai. Wait? This fixture sounds familiar. Well, the last time the teams played each other in their first games of the Cricket World Cup was back in 1987, at the same venue.

The BLOCKBUSTER ENCOUNTER - India vs Pakistan - is scheduled for a grand premiere on October 15 (changed to October 14 now) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. So, re-reserve your show tickets, grab your Blue jerseys and be ready to shout slogans like ‘Indiaaa, Indiaaa’ and ‘Jeetega bhai jeetega!’

Some days later, we will meet New Zealand at the scenic Dharamsala on October 22. The agenda? Settle the score for 2019 CWC semi-final loss to the BlackCaps and break the 20-year jinx of not beating NZ in a men's ICC event.

So, when will India play at the Wankhede Stadium? Our den, our fortress, with its majestic sea of Blue, will have us entertain the winner of Qualifier 2 on November 2. But that’s not all. If all goes as per plan, Aamchi Mumbai will see India take the field as one of the semi-finalists on November 15.

Hosts India will play the other nine teams in a round robin format from October 8 to November 12. The nine league games will see our Men in Blue travel across 10 locations – Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata - that span the length and breadth of the country.
