Teams travel to Chinnaswamy for the final T20I

By Mumbai Indians

After a comfortable victory in the Mohali game, the Men in Blue will face the Proteas at the Chinnaswamy stadium for the final encounter. It has the reputation of being a nightmarish pitch for the bowlers. Both teams have immense batting talent to go all bonkers on this track.

Rohit Sharma will look to get going after missing out in the previous game. It's one of his favorite hunting grounds and will also invite memories of his first ever double century. Shikhar Dhawan displayed his prowess in the shortest format last game which means that KL Rahul may have to wait.No one knows the conditions at the Chinnaswamy stadium better than Virat Kohli who is also the highest run-scorer in T20Is now.

The duo of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant will comprise the middle order. While Iyer has done his job more than often, Pant will need to keep a prize for his wicket and soon get accustomed to playing according to the situation. The skipper, likely won’t  make any other changes in the batting conundrum with the Pandya brothers and Ravindra Jadeja. There's a slight probability that India may be keen to try leg spinner Rahul Chahar. Deepak Chahar was impressive at Mohali while Navdeep Saini will be in a familiar territory at the Chinnaswamy. However, if India want some left-arm pace to target the right handers in South Africa's batting lineup, they may bring in Khaleel Ahmed.

South Africa had a good start to their innings but the middle order faltered. After de Kock’s dismissal, there was no one to accelerate and the visitors lost momentum. They will be looking to not repeat the same mistakes again. Rassie Van Der Dussen had a soft dismissal off Jadeja and everyone knows what he is capable of. Temba Bavuma anchored the innings but there was no one around him to hit out.

David Miller would again be looking to make his IPL experience count. Back in 2014, Miller had smashed 66 runs off just 29 balls at the same ground. Andile Phehlukwayo was fantastic in the last game and again he along with, Dwaine Pretorius will look to set the tone for South Africa in both the departments.

Kagiso Rabada ran a riot here during the IPL, ending up with his personal best T20 figures of 4/21. It will be interesting to see if the Proteas bring in Beuran Hendricks or continue to persist with Anrich Nortje who had an off game.Tabraiz Shamsi again has played a fair bit of games at this ground during his IPL tenure. He can also guide the other youngsters in the team on how to be bowling at this track.

Key Battles

Rohit Sharma vs Andile Phehlukwayo

The Indian opener lost plot after hitting two sixes as he was trapped by Andile Phehlukwayo. The change in pace worked for South Africa. Rohit will be keen to prove himself given how well he batted against him during their World Cup 2019 clash.

Hardik Pandya vs Tabraiz Shamsi

Hardik Pandya has the potential of going in an all attacking mode. On the other hand, Tabraiz Shamsi with his left arm chinaman skills is capable of inflicting trouble to the opposition batsmen. It will be an interesting battle when both go face-to-face as Hardik doesn't resist himself against spinners.

While South Africa will be raring to draw level with India, the home side will be looking to help their strong record in India with regards to T20Is.
