“To turn it around and win four in a row feels amazing”: Trent Boult
Paltan, we are soooooo back in TATA IPL 2025!!!
A fourth win on the trot means we find ourselves in the playoff spot for the first time this season and woh waali feeling can definitely be felt in the dressing room! 🥰
We have defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their own backyard this time out and it cannot be termed as any ordinary triumph. Rather, IT WAS A STATEMENT, announcing the magnitude of our form in some style.
The Player of the Match, Trent Boult, who claimed 4/26 in his quota of four overs, appeared in the post-match press conference and shared his thoughts on the nature of the pitch which, surprisingly, favoured the bowlers.
“I think it was a good wicket, a wicket that Sunrisers Hyderabad know very well. It's a heaven for big scores and I think it played a little bit differently than a lot of people expected. It’s nice to see any team go four or five down in the powerplay. So, it was a good feeling.
“We expected it to be a high-scoring match. There wasn't much grass and it was quite a dry wicket. The new ball stood up a little bit for both teams in the powerplay. I just managed to put some pressure on, but to get four [wickets] was great stuff,” he said.
Moreover, the left-arm pacer praised Rohit Sharma’s return to form, who recorded successive fifties to power the team to a comfortable victory.
“I think that the whole Mumbai Indians squad possesses some world-class players and obviously Rohit needs no introduction in that regard. Everyone wants to be contributing at some point. Rohit's doing a fantastic job of late and playing nicely just at the right time. So he's gonna play a huge role for us in the remaining part of the season,” Boulty said.
To conclude, our POTM opined on the team's position in the points table as we entered the top four for the first time this season!
“It's a long tournament. Momentum wasn't on our side to start with, but to turn it around and have four wins in a row feels amazing. The focus is just to get a bit of momentum & rhythm. We're not gonna look too far ahead as it can quickly change. We are looking forward to getting back home and playing in conditions that we know pretty well,” Trent Boult concluded.
