Welcome to the WTC Test squad, Ishan Kishan

By Mumbai Indians

The growth trajectory continues for our Pocket Dynamo!

So this isn’t something that’s come out of the blue. Ishan was a part of the Indian Test squad against the Aussies in the home series as a reserve wicket-keeper, and was also a part of the reserves for the WTC Final. With KL Rahul now injured and ruled out for two months, it was only logical that the selectors turned to him to step in, and step up.

Ishan – with the red-ball – is no mug. In his 38 First Class matches, he has scored 2985 runs at a healthy average of 38.76. His experience of battling it out in cold, blistery conditions in Jharkhand are set to come in handy in similar cold and muggy English season-starting conditions.

Imagine this, Ishan lifting the IPL title in the Blue and Gold on May 28, and then lifting the WTC mace in the Indian Whites in a fortnight. It’s a double whammy. Motera and The Oval. IT’S THE DREAM.

Beware Aussies!
