“We’re ticking all boxes in the last five games” – Naman Dhir on winning streak

Five victories on the trot. Team beaming with confidence. Every individual making handy contributions. It’s all 🤩 in the dressing room!

The 54-run triumph over the Lucknow Super Giants was even more special courtesy of our ESA initiative where children from diverse backgrounds came to Wankhede to cherish an unforgettable experience of watching the Boys in Blue & Gold play in front of their eyes! Baccha party, mazaa aaya na… 🥳

Naman Dhir, who added valuable runs towards the end of the first innings with an 11-ball 25 cameo, appeared in the post-match press conference to opine on the playing conditions and the team’s performance in a commanding win.

“I think the pitch was on the slower side but our top-order batters batted very well. They gave us a very good start.

“From the past five games, we are ticking the boxes and we are winning the moments which are leading us to the win. If we continue with that, we will move upwards as well,” said Dhir.

Furthermore, the right-handed batter revealed his thoughts on the use of saliva to shine the ball, while talking about his preparation in the nets.

“Saliva helps because it is heavier from the sweat and it helps the ball reverse a bit at the end. Both bowling units used it quite well. Saliva does help especially in the day game because the weather and wickets are dry.

“I'm practicing these shots in the nets and I’m aware that the ball will behave differently in the last two overs. I'm batting in the nets accordingly. The bowlers are bowling with the old ball in the nets and that's helping me prepare," Dhir concluded.
