8.45pm IST | STUMPS: Time to knock the stumps off. Today was all about history being created. And just to reiterate, cricket, as we know it, will never ever be the same again. Paltan, we know how staunch you've been in your support for us over these last 15 years. It's time you find that voice again, in March, for the women. For the Mumbai Indians. For Women's cricket. And until we see you around at the ground, shouting at the top of your voice (Mumbaiiiii Indians ** clap, clap, clap **), ta ta!! 

That would be all. We had 30 lakhs INR left in our purse, and we've snapped up three players. It's a proper team: with youth, experience, all kinds of pace, all kinds of spin, all kinds of batting abilities, and that's what Mumbai Indians is all about. Everyone at the auction table are super pleased. 

8.15pm IST: One final round then. A couple of the teams need a couple of players to fill up the slots. We have a skeleton. We need some flesh and blood. All franchises have been asked to send in a list of three players who they'd like to have back in the auctions. 

And we kick things off immediately. We've made a steal. Champion, Champion! Everybody say Hayley Matthew's a Champion! At Kolkata, in 2016, her 45-ball 66 to seal the deal and start the party is still fresh in our heads. 7.10pm IST: Okay, breathe. Consolidate. We have a 15-minute break, and the teams have been asked to send a list of seven players each, who would then be brought back in an accelerated round. Stick around .. 

In case you're wondering, Isabelle Wong is only 20. She is English, and her career has seen a meteoric rise in the last one year, and she is fast and fierce. Here's a fun fact: She has a bit of a Hong Kong connect.

4:15pm IST: 23-year-old, at the peak of her cricketing powers, finishing innings, bowling pace, and we've snapped her up. And soon after, we have our wicket-keeper. Yastika Bhatia is just that multi-utility option for us, doubling up as a smashing opener too. 

Amelia Kerr: Remember her 232* against Ireland some years ago. She was the youngest to score a 200 in ODIs. And in the same match, she returned to pick a fifer. That's what we are talking about! 

3:10pm IST: And come the second marquee set of players, we go on a bidding spree again. England's star all-rounder, Natalie Sciver, who's Nat-megged bowlers around for fun, is now set to do it in Blue and Gold. Imagine the explosion in front of us, Paltan! 

2.50pm IST: And we have a player! #AaliRe, Harman aali re! We battle three other teams in a fierce round, oh, we aren't letting her go. 1.8cr INR, we repeat, we have made our first buy. HARMANPREET KAUR. Indian star, MI star! Historyis made. Control your goosebumps ..

2.30pm IST: MARK THE TIME. The clock has ticked over. 13th February 2023, 2:30pm IST. Okay, here are the basic rules of the day. Just the things you’d need to know:

* Maximum purse: 12cr INR

* Slots to be filled: Minimum 15 players, Maximum 18 players

* Overseas slots allowed: 6 players

* Total players available: 246 Indians, 163 overseas

* The players have registered their base prices in slabs of INR 50 lakh, INR 40 lakh, INR 30 lakh, INR 20 lakh and INR 10 lakh. Bids up to 1 crore INR would be in increments of 5 lakhs INR, from 1-2 crore INR in increments of 10 lakhs INR, and beyond 2 crore INR in increments of 20 lakhs INR.
