ZIM vs IND T20Is: Young India talents set out to build on WC success

By Mumbai Indians

While we take some time to soak in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, the Men in Blue are back in action as they touchdown Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series from Saturday (July 6) to Sunday (July 14).

While the senior stars have been rested for the tour, talented opener Shubman Gill will lead the 15-man squad under the watchful eyes of VVS Laxman. Furthermore, the contingent will include as many as four players who shone in the IPL and are primed to debut in the sacred Indian colours in the T20I format.

For Zimbabwe, the vastly experienced Sikandar Raza will be at the helm of a young team that will hope to put on a promising fight and gain experience against India. Apart from Raza, Blessing Muzarabani and all-rounder Luke Jongwe will be crucial players for the Chevrons.

Regarding the head-to-head record, India firmly are in the driver’s seat with six wins in eight meetings. All five games of the latest ZIMvIND T20I series will be played at the Harare Sports Club.
