A hard-hitting lower-order batsman, an exceptional fielder, a skilful bowler and a Twitter master. Jofra Archer has lived up to the bill of a true blue entertainer.
Born and raised in Barbados, Archer started off with the West Indian under-19 team in 2013-14, but soon moved over to Sussex with a commitment to play for England. At the age of 24, such was his talent and such was the reputation he’d built up, that the ECB slashed his waiting period to qualify for an England shirt by four years! What followed immediately was a World Cup medal where he held his nerve and delivered a stunning super-over in the final,, an impressive start to his Test career and flourishing success around the world in franchise cricket.
With the Rajasthan Royals from 2018-21, he was MVP of IPL 2020. In 2022, we bagged him at the mega auction following a fierce bidding war despite him being unavailable for the 2022 season. Yep, that’s the reputation he’s built around him!
