3. Hardik Pandya

The MI skipper, Hardik Pandya, is a true all-rounder, a crucial asset in the fast-paced T20 format. This will be his first international assignment after nearly nine months since he suffered an ankle injury during CWC 2023. The anticipation for his return is palpable, and we are optimistic about his performance in the tournament, expecting him to come back with a bang in the colours of India and add to his record of 1348 runs and 73 wickets.

4. Tim David

A trailblazer with the bat in the middle order, Tim David has more often than not donned the cape to rescue teams in dire situations, winning matches from the dead. He is a powerhouse, able to pulverize batting targets at a whim courtesy of his 1062 T20I runs at a strike rate of 163.63, and an electric patrol leader on the field. His presence is sure to send shivers down the spine of opposition bowlers.

5. Mohammad Nabi

One of Afghanistan's flagbearers of cricket, his peculiar resume includes being a reliable ball hitter (2109 runs) and a good fisherman for wickets (93 wickets) at crucial stages. Over the years, the Afghans have showcased how they can be the ultimate dark horses at ICC tournaments, and with Nabi in the mix, there will be plenty of surprises and entertainment to look forward to.

6. Romario Shepherd

Graduating from the esteemed ‘West Indies Institute of All-Rounders’, Romario Shepherd will step out as one of the strong knights for the Calypso Kings in their hunt for ICC silverware. Be it the bat or ball, the Guyana-based star - with 317 runs and 37 wickets in 35 T20Is - has always showcased his dash brilliance to commit to the cause. And judging from his form in IPL 2024, the Paltan can rest assured that Shepherd can engineer and carry the Windies’ brand of cricket with responsibility, command and a good ounce of entertainment and fun.

Bowlers

7. Gerald Coetzee

The ‘Karate Kid’ will continue his meteoric rise in international cricket in his second ICC tournament. You saw him devour batters in the CWC 2023, where he took a South African record of 20 wickets in a single edition. And having made a similar mark with the ball in IPL 2024, get ready to see the Bloemfontein native set the pitch ablaze at the T20 World with his thunderous bowling speeds that clock 140-plus kph and add to his tally of six wickets in his budding international career.

8. Jasprit Bumrah

The mercurial BOOM BOOM will spearhead India’s pace attack at this year’s T20 World Cup. Bumrah’s unique action and trademark run-up have always kept the upbeat Indian audience on the edge of their seats. Each of his 74 T20I wickets — whether a simply unmissable yorker or those in-swing bullets that uproot the opposition batter’s stumps like a piece of art — has continuously kept fans checking their heartbeat meters, and the talismanic bowler is expected to continue the trend come June.

9. Nuwan Thushara

The new-age ‘Lasith Malinga’ has already given us a glimpse of his immense potential with the ball, and he is now all set to make opposition batters quiver with fear. And he is not a newcomer to the international stage, having grabbed 11 wickets in eight outings, including a five-wicket haul in his latest game in the colours of the Lankan Lions. He has the talent, precision, and hunger for wickets and will be a threat with the ball.

10. Dilshan Madushanka

Do you need a powerplay specialist bowler who can easily swing the ball and bury the opposition stumps? Dial Dilshan Madushanka. What’s more? He bowls at speeds touching the 140 kph mark, which is an asset in today’s era of rare lefty speedsters. While we missed his brilliance in an MI jersey owing to an injury, he is primed and poised to show all the tricks and skills in his arsenal when he enters the various arenas to challenge opponents in the USA and the West Indies and add to his tally of 14 wickets in 14 T20I caps.
