2021 Auction dates and venue announced
The VIVO IPL 2021 Auction is slated to take place in Chennai on 18th February.
The auction will happen in the break between the second and third India v England Tests. The first two Tests are also to be played in Chennai at Chepauk.
The teams announced their squads with various retentions and releases last week.

Remaining purse and available slots for MI
A total of 57 players were released by the eight franchises altogether. Mumbai Indians released seven players including the retired Lasith Malinga, Mitchell McClenaghan, Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Pattinson, Sherfane Rutherford, Prince Balwant Rai and Digvijay Deshmukh.
The defending champions will enter the auction with seven available slots including four overseas ones to fill. With some big names expected to go under the hammer, it will be interesting to see which players get the nod.
