ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 fixtures announced

The International Cricket Council announced the fixtures for the much-awaited Men’s T20 World Cup starting from 17th October 2021 across venues in the UAE. The final will be played in Dubai on 14th November 2021. The games will be played either at 2 PM or 6 PM local time.

Round 1 matches will run between 17th October to 22nd October where Oman, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Namibia will battle it out for a place in the Super 12 stage.

The top four teams from Round 1 will advance to Super 12. Currently, the stage has Australia, South Africa, England and West Indies in Group 1 and India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, New Zealand in Group 2.

The Super 12 stage will start with the Group 1 clash of Australia and South Africa at Abu Dhabi on 23rd October in the afternoon and England facing West Indies in the evening fixture in Dubai on the same day. The final fixture of this group is on 6th November.

Group 2 starts with India and Pakistan locking horns, rekindling an age-old rivalry on 24th October in Dubai in an evening fixture. The group ends with a game between India and one of the qualifiers from Round 1 on 8th November, before the tournament moves into the knockouts.

The semi-finals will be held on 10th and 11th of November, and both the games will be allowed a reserve day in case of delays on the first day. The final will be played in Dubai on 14th November 2021 to conclude the extravaganza.
