Six days after our first game, Mumbai Indians are back in action in the Tata IPL 2022, this time to take on the Rajasthan Royals.

MI hold a slight edge over RR in the head-to-head record as we have won 13 of the 24 games played over the years while our opponents have won 11.

In our last five encounters, MI have won three while RR have won two.

Players to watch out for

Our opponents RR sit top of the table after a 61-run win in their first match vs SRH. Their skipper Sanju Samson hit a fifty while Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal and Shimron Hetmyer all played impactful knocks to get them to 210/6.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna all conceded runs at less than 6 an over in that last game while only Ashwin went wicketless.

For MI, openers Ro and Ishan ‘Pocket Dynamo’ Kishan are in good nick, with the duo providing a solid start up top in the first game vs DC. Rohit hit 41 in that game while Ishan ended with an unbeaten 81.

Among the bowlers, M Ashwin, Basil Thampi and Tymal Mills all enjoyed good debuts. The trio stemmed the flow of runs in the powerplay and middle overs while picking wickets at regular intervals.

Upcoming Milestones

Captain Hitman is 64 runs short of completing 10,000 runs across all T20s. Ro could become the seventh man to achieve this feat after Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli and David Warner.

This will be his 359th T20 innings and if he reaches this landmark in the game, Ro could be fifth-fastest to it after Gayle (289), Kohli (299), Warner (303) and Finch (327).

Ro and Polly could also reach another milestone in this game. The skipper needs 6 sixes to complete 200 sixes for MI while Polly needs one more to complete 250 sixes for MI.

Ishan ‘Pocket Dynamo’ Kishan needs 17 runs to get to 3000 runs in T20s.

Big man Tim David has hit 30 sixes in T20s so far in 2022, the most by any batter. A few more of those lusty blows should help him get 23 more runs, which he needs to complete 2000 T20 runs.

This will be another afternoon match for MI as we take on RR at 3:30 PM at the DY Patil stadium.
