MI Junior 2025: Modern English School dominates with 195-run triumph

By Mumbai Indians

Modern English School (Chembur) dominated proceedings as they marched past Lakshadham High School (Goregaon) by a commanding margin of 195 runs in the Quarter Final of the MI Junior Interschool Cricket Tournament.

Batting first, the middle-order duo of Rishabh Sadake and Praanav Iyengar stitched together a 195-run partnership, with the former scoring an impressive century worth 109 runs, while Praanav came agonisingly close himself, only to fall short by 4 runs as he was dismissed for 96. Despite skipper Shamik S’s 3 for 39, Modern English School amassed a staggering 328 runs.

Lakshadham High School captain Shamik capped a brilliant all-round effort as he backed up his 3 wickets with a well-constructed knock of 53 runs. However, Shaurya Ketan (3/25), Kanav Saini (2/14) and Sparsh Chavan (2/30) struck at regular intervals to ensure a 195-run victory for Modern English School.

In the Girls’ U-15 category, St. Columba School emerged victorious as they defeated St. Joseph Convent High School by a margin of 222 runs. Batting first, openers Mayura Raorane (49) and skipper Aarya Wajge (112) put together a 172-run opening stand, with the latter scoring a fantastic century. Capitalising on the positive start and Bhavna Sanap’s quick-fire 35 not out, St. Columba School reached 294/3 at the end of their innings. Chasing 295, St. Joseph Convent High School never looked in contention as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 72.
