Welcome back home, Jason Behrendorff
Read it in Hindi.
Read it in Marathi.
He’s back. A key part of our march to the IPL title in 2019, Jason Behrendorff, the Australian left-arm swing bowler, is back in our Mumbai Indians squad, following a pre-auction trade with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Just to jog your memory, Jason has played five games for us in 2019, following a super-impressive debut against CSK, where he finished with figures of 4-0-22-2. He couldn’t stay around till the end of the season, after being called up to join the Australian national squad for the World Cup.
Technically, and that’s what we’d like to believe, Jason hasn’t played for anybody but MI. In 2021, CSK drafted him as a replacement player, and in 2022, he was a part of the RCB squad for a base price of 75 lakhs. But, but, he didn’t play a single game.
Behrendorff has represented Australia in nine T20Is, picking 7 wickets with a best of 4 for 21. In all T20s, he has 117 wickets in 105 matches at an economy of 7.41. In the IPL, he has five wickets to his name at an economy of 8.68.
It’s great to have you back in the Blue and Gold, Jason. Let’s light up our fortress! Bring on the season!
