WPL weekly tracker (May 29): Nat Sciver-Brunt, Chloe Tryon extend their purple patch

By Mumbai Indians

PALTANNNN!!! Another week, another set of stellar performances by our WPL superstars. Go on, read our weekly tracker to see who is up to what ..

Nat Sciver-Brunt's blazing for The Blaze!

From a relatively quiet start to making quite a statement, our very own Nat Sciver-Brunt has bridged the gap sooner than expected. We had foreseen her unleashing her beast mode, and our prediction proved to be spot on. Nat looked good for her 28-ball 50* and when she starts well, you know something special is brewing, and this time was no exception.

The Grace Road Stadium witnessed an extraordinary display of grace as her bat weaved its magic, showcasing a stunning array of 15 boundaries and a couple of mighty maximums. With precision and power, she delivered a scintillating finish, smashing an unbeaten 96* off just 50 balls and powering the Blaze to close out on 212. In reply, the Sparks were restricted to 156, resulting in a 56-run win for the Blaze.

Tryon letting the ball do all the talking -

Our unstoppable all-rounder Chloe Tryon may have missed out on contributing with the bat, but she's making up for it with the ball. Take her match against the Central Sparks at Edgbaston, where she bagged 3 wickets for just 30 runs in 4 overs, helping the Northern Diamonds sneak a narrow 3-run victory.

And she didn't stop there! In her next game, at the iconic Oval, she sent down 4 overs for 31 runs and claimed the crucial wicket of Bryony Smith that helped Diamonds restrict SouthEast Stars to 138, a target they got to with 2 wickets to spare and registered successive wins.

Issy inching close to finding her mojo -

Our very own WPL hat-trick hero, Issy Wong, is yet to fully hit her straps, as showcased in her recent figures of 0/11 (1) and 0/21 (2). In her outing against Blaze, Issy picked up a couple of key wickets, but was a tad expensive, finishing with figures of 2/39 (4). One of her wickets came in the death overs against a well-set batter. This breakthrough could do wonders for her confidence and get her back in the rhythm.
