INDvBAN Tests preview: The return of Ro-Ko-Boom, and the whites!

By Mumbai Indians

The wait is over! Hitman and Boom Boom are back together after the historic T20 World Cup win in Barbados. But this time in whites. Yes, India are ready to continue their stellar run in Tests at home, from where it left off, after the 4-1 domination of England earlier this year.

The season of Test cricket is here! Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are all in the mix with Guru Gautam making his coaching debut in the longest format. Add to that a berth in the World Test Championship 2023-25 final hanging in the air, it doesn’t get any better.

Captain RO with his swag, Boom Boom with his toe-crushers! Gear up Paltan as the action unfolds at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on September 19 for the first of two Tests against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh are coming to India after their historic 2-0 Test series win in Pakistan. The neighbours, riding on momentum, would be itching to open their account against India in Tests. All-in-all, a mouth-watering clash ensues.

What: India vs Bangladesh two-Test Series

When: First Test: September 19 to September 23, Second Test: September 27 to October 1.

Where: First Test: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Second Test: Green Park, Kanpur

What to look forward to: Team India will look to continue both their dominant run at home and their unbeaten streak against their neighbours in Tests. Rohit and Gambhir will have one eye on the points table of the current WTC 2023-25 cycle. Winning the series would strengthen their position at the top and clear the path for a third straight final appearance. Let’s seal it boys!

What they said: “When you play for your country, every game that we play is important because of what is at stake. The WTC table is still quite wide open and you want to win every game … This little camp in Chennai from September 12th was important for us to have a good little prep before this Test match. So, in terms of preparation and readiness, I feel we are quite ready for this game and what lies ahead of us.” – Captain RO at the pre-match press conference.
