WPL weekly star-tracker (Oct 30): Double H take over Summer Slam Down Under
It’s might just be a couple of tournaments going around, but there’s just too much going on in them, where our MI folk are standing out even more. Don’t waste time ..
Women’s Big bash League
A roller-coaster week for the Harman-Hayley combo
Three matches – two wins, one loss, and the Melbourne Renegades haven’t quite found their mojo yet. But our MI duo, the Double H, of Harmanpreet Kaur and Hayley Matthews, have sounded their arrival bugle. In a massive win over the Adelaide Strikers, Harman smashed a 33-ball 43, Hayley got them off to a flier with a 6-ball 12. Oh, and don’t forget a couple of wickets against their names! They couldn’t quite click against the Sydney Thunder, but come the Sixers, Hayley was back to spinning her web – 3/17.

Chloe’s monster 40s
42(33) vs Brisbane Heat. 41(16) vs Melbourne Renegades. While the Sydney Sixers might languish at the seventh spot in the WBBL points table, Chloe Tryon’s blitz has successfully managed to reverse their three match losing streak. With five sixes in her knock against the Renegades, she infused some much-needed momentum into their innings.

Senior Women’s T20 Trophy
Amanjot shows serious consistency
85 runs from the middle-order in three games to ensure that Punjab Women firmly cement their position at the top of the table. A fifty against Assam Women, and useful chipped in runs against Haryana Women and Tripura Women, along with even-more-useful wickets just tell you the MVP she’s become!

Saika with the ball, Priyanka with the bat, and Bengal on top of Group B
Here’s Saika Ishaque for you: A spell of 3-0-3-1 to tighten the screws against Meghalaya Women and skittle them out for 43, followed by 2/22 to strangle UP-W in their chase, and a 1/28 against Karnataka Women. Clinical, miserly, accurate.
And here’s Priyanka Bala for you: A quickfire 26 against Meghalaya to seal the chase and kick up Bengal’s NRR, an 18-ball 23 against UP Women to finish the innings on a high, and an even better 23-ball 34 against Karnataka Women. She’s only been getting better.

Pooja Vastrakar – The MP Hurricane
80 runs in three games, which includes a calm 23 off 27 balls to chase down a total of 97 against Hyderabad Women and a whirlwind 34-ball 47 against Andhra Women, Pooja Vastrakar’s has played the captain leading-from-the-front role for MP Women to perfection.

Make way for Jinti, the Assam Express!
Her spell of 4/23 rocked the Tripura Women early, before she returned to rock them some more at the death. Jintimani Kalita, with her raw pace is quickly becoming the sensation to look out for.

Humairaa and Yastika don the mature hat
With a 33-ball 40 against Gujarat Women at the top of the order to lay the platform for her fellow Baroda Women teammates to launch from, Yastika Bhatia went about her usual business. Against the might Mumbai-W side, she once again chipped in with a useful 13, supporting her fellow opener and happily playing second fiddle. Her opponent in the Mumbai colours, Humairaa Kaazi had a rather quiet game, but against Maharashtra Women got into a 100-run stand with Jemimah Rodrigues with a run-a-ball fifty of her own!
